Yrjö Kokko’s classic, first published in 1944, is given a fresh and vivid new interpretation in the hands of Teatteri Sujo. The story follows the adventures of Illusia, a rainbow fairy, and Pessi, a forest troll: an encounter in which love, courage and the beauty of life are entwined with the frightening and the dark as well.
Pessi ja Illusia is a performance about love, about nature, and about how we can meet the world in all its fragility and wonder. The play combines circus tricks, shadow theatre, new music and strong acting in the heart of the Upper Savo countryside. Adventure awaits!
