How do you carry on when the world tips off its axis? What happens inside a person when safety crumbles, familiar structures collapse and tomorrow turns unpredictable? Why does one person come through it and another does not?

JÄLKI is a moving and timely piece about hope and despair in a world where weapons do the talking and fear draws lines between people. It looks at the marks a crisis leaves on the body, the mind and the landscape, and at the ones that can lead towards change.

The work carries the audience into a reality shadowed by war and conflict. How does a person rebuild themselves when everything familiar is gone? Where does hope come from when there is destruction all around? And can something new grow out of the middle of despair?
